OUR AMBASSADORS for 2025
WST, science education community for Gender Equality, promotes and supports collaboration among STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) teachers, educational researchers, policy makers and other STEM education experts. Since 2014, WST has been pioneering the exchange of knowledge and experience in the field of STEM Education through its portal, events, professional development activities and networking activities.WST Ambassadors help share WST activities at national level and play an active role in supporting innovation in STEM education in their countries. Their work is essential to expanding and consolidating a community whose core values are sharing good classroom practice in the STEM area and ensuring that students are equipped with the skills they need to succeed as adults.

"ONLINE STEAM CONFERENCE " for high school students
WST and ARSTEAMapp Project organised the conference for high school students (14-18 years old) to increase the interest of young people in technology.
Students had an opportunity to present their work at this conference.
The conference was on 25th April 2024. From 3 countries 10 projects were presented.
STEM DISCOVERY CAMPAIGN2024
As a one of the partner organisations of STEM Discovery Campaign2024 held by Scientix, WST organised some events.
We reached from 10 countries, nearly 9000 students with our events.THANKS to all participants who supported us .

Meeting in National Archaeological Museum
Grazie Dossena from "The "Filippo Masci" Scientific High School of Chietias, ITALY" and as one of the partner organisations of the Stem Discovery Campaign SDC24 , "Women Science Teachers" social portal are organizing an event for the "11 February International Day of Women and Girls in Science" .
The conference on February 13th with Dr. Antonella Santuccione Chadha will be held in the Cianfarani auditorium of the National Archaeological Museum "La Civitella" Chieti in Italy.
AR & VR EXPERIENCE
Elena Hreciuc from "Secondary School Mitocu Dragomirnei, Secondary School, ROMANIA", and one of the partners of SDC24 "Women Science Teachers(WST) are organising an event to step into a world where artificial intelligence meets augmented reality in an empowering experience designed to inspire and empower girls during SDC24.

As one of the partners of SDC24 "Women Science Teachers" and Korkaz Yigit Anatolian High School and Etiler Anatolian High School (TÜRKİYE) have organised 10 museums visit to increase students' interest in STEAM.

WOMEN in EUROPA
Sabrina Nappi from "ISIS Europa, Pomigliano D'Arco,ITALY " and "Women Science Teachers" organized an activity (Women in... in Europa) for STEM DISCOVERY CAMPAIGN24 .
In this event, students(age 14-18) from Italy( ISISEuropa ) , Türkiye( Korkmaz Yiğit Anatolian High School) and Romania( Technical College Petrila) shared their works. The event was broadcast live on the Radio Europa Live
CODE WEEK 2024
Vasiliki Psaridou(GREECE), one of the ambassadors of "Women Science Teachers", took part in the EU CODE WEEK Teacher Day as a presenter. The main goal of Teacher Day is for participants to leave with new ideas to share with their colleagues, use with their students and build supportive connections with other community members. The event will include lectures and workshops on coding, curriculum and sharing of best practices.
Vasiliki presented how she created a Focus Group for the Navigating Innovative Technologies Across the Curriculum MOOC in October 2023. The group consisted of only female pre-school teachers with no previous programming experience.You can see Vasiliki's other work :
MUSEUM VISIT
Arzu Seydim (Etiler Anatolian High School-Istanbul-TURKİYE), one of the ambassadors of "Women Science Teachers", organised museum visits within the scope of STEM Discovery Campaign24 activities for her students to reinforce the subjects they learned in museums.
Arnavutköy Korkmaz Yiğit Anatolian High School students also participated in this event, which also celebrated "11 February International Day of Women and Girls in Science".

Art teacher Seval Vardar from "Korkmaz Yigit Anatolian High School, TÜRKİYE"and Hatice Kırmacı,coordinator of WST,organised museum visits within the scope of STEM Discovery Campaign24 activities for her students to reinforce the subjects they learned in museums.
TECH GIRLS COMPETITION
As a one of the partner organisations of STEM Discovery Campaign2024 held by Scientix, WST and ARSTEAMapp Project organised the competition for the " 11th February International Day of Women and Girls in Science".
In this competition, which aimed to increase the interest of girls (Ages12-18) in science, the subject of the competition was cultural heritage and technology.

TUBITAK 4006 Science Fair
"Women Science Teachers" and ARSTEAMapp Project participated in Tubitak 4006 Science Fair organised by Arnavutköy Korkmaz Yiğit Anatolian High School (KYAL). In this event , participants got to a chance to use ARSTEAMapp Project's application. And, participants got to a chance to play AR game about Anatolian Scientist.

3D&AR in SDC24
Biology Teacher Halide Yavuz Gurkan (Yeni Levent Anatolian High School, TÜRKİYE) and WST (One of the partner organisations of SDC24) collaborated to bring 3D and AR together in the biology course. Students had 3D models of their own models in digital format. At the same time, they had a better understanding of the topics they covered in the lessons.
ART in the SPRING
WST and painting teacher Seval Vardar from "Arnavutköy Korkmaz Yigit Anatolian High School , TÜRKİYE" aimed to teach both paint colours and light colours to students by combining the colours in nature with art. Using the watercolour technique, students painted the flowers they saw in spring.
ERATOSTHENES EXPERIMENT
"Women Science Teachers" and Selma ÇINAR from "Arnavutköy Korkmaz Yiğit Anatolian High School (KYAL), TÜRKİYE" carried out the Eratosthenes Experiment with students for STEM Discovery Campaign activities.
Students from KYAL,repeated Eratosthenes' experiment of measuring the circumference of the earth in Istanbul after many years. Together with their geography teachers, they measured the circumference of the earth using simple tools such as a 1-metre stick, compass and metre, and with the help of mathematical operations and geometry knowledge.
FROM CLOTHES to RUGS
"WST" and Korkmaz Yigit Anatolian High School/Turkiye developed the project on the sustainability of clothes . Clothes that are old and sometimes old go to waste without being worn. We thought about how we could benefit both the environment and the economy by recycling these clothes. We took waste materials that would go to waste from production facilities. We turned these into ropes. We created our own rug patterns. We also examined Turkish rug motifs, and by combining our own patterns with Turkish rug motifs, we created 21st century patterns again. We made rugs with these patterns we created. We also made an AR application by developing a 3D model for our clay. The project website is here :
SUSTAINABLE CLOTHES
"As ,Women Science Teachers" portal and Korkmaz Yigit Anatolian High School from /TURKİYE ,we developed the project on the sustainability of clothes . First of all, we examined the clothes that are our cultural heritage. We worked on the sustainability of fashion by combining 100-150 years old clothes with today's fashion. In addition, we examined not only Turkish clothes but also clothes in Europe (D'orsay Museum - Paris). Then we created new clothes with the cultural heritage of the past. In order for the clothes to be worn for a long time, we made them compatible with 5-10-15 ages.

WST was one of the partners of the session "Gender Equality in Science Education" at the Science Summit UNGA78 organised for the 78th general assembly of the United Nations. The session took place on 13 September at 09.00 at the Consulate General of the Republic of Türkiye in New York. We would like to thank ReyhanÖzgür, TurkishConsulateGeneralinNewYork for hosting us, DeclanKirrane for giving us a place at the Science Summit UNGA78, our speakers for sharing their valuable experiences with us, and our guests who attended our session and accompanied us.
"CITY of TROY" was in the Low Code Fest organised by Europeana Foundation
WST created the project" Cıty of Troy" in February2024.The city of Troy has atcreated tracted and continues to attract people for thousands of years. It has become a legend with its richness and interesting story. Troy was destroyed and rebuilt 8 times. We found the old architectural plans of the city of Troy, which was destroyed 8 times, and created 3D materials of them.
WST participated in the" Low Code Fest" competition organised by Europeana Foundation. City of TROY project got second place in this competition. This final event of the Low Code Fest competition presented the projects built with participants and announce the winners of this year's edition. WST, thanks to Europeana Foundation for this great event.
