Meeting in National Archaeological Museum

The "Filippo Masci" Scientific High School of Chietias and as one of the partner organisations of the Stem Discovery Campaign SDC24 , "Women Science Teachers" social portal are organizing an event for the "11 February International Day of Women and Girls in Science" .
The conference on February 13th with Dr. Antonella Santuccione Chadha will be held in the Cianfarani auditorium of the National Archaeological Museum "La Civitella" Chieti in Italy.
WOMEN in EUROPA

ISIS Europa, Pomigliano D'Arco and "Women Science Teachers" organized an activity (Women in... in Europa) for STEM DISCOVERY CAMPAIGN24 .
In this event, students(age 14-18) from Italy( ISISEuropa ) , Türkiye( Korkmaz YiÄŸit Anatolian High School) and Romania( Technical College Petrila) shared their works. The event was broadcast live on the Radio Europa Live
AR & VR EXPERIENCE

Museum Visit
Arzu Seydim (Etiler Anatolian High School-Istanbul-Turkey), one of the ambassadors of "Women Science Teachers", organised museum visits within the scope of STEM Discovery Campaign24 activities for her students to reinforce the subjects they learned in museums.
Arnavutköy Korkmaz YiÄŸit Anatolian High School students also participated in this event, which also celebrated "11 February International Day of Women and Girls in Science".
Code Week2024
Vasiliki Psaridou, one of the ambassadors of "Women Science Teachers", took part in the EU CODE WEEK Teacher Day as a presenter. The main goal of Teacher Day is for participants to leave with new ideas to share with their colleagues, use with their students and build supportive connections with other community members. The event will include lectures and workshops on coding, curriculum and sharing of best practices.
Vasiliki presented how she created a Focus Group for the Navigating Innovative Technologies Across the Curriculum MOOC in October 2023. The group consisted of only female pre-school teachers with no previous programming experience.
ERATOSTHENES EXPERIMENT
"Women Science Teachers" and Arnavutköy Korkmaz YiÄŸit Anatolian High School (KYAL)carried out the Eratosthenes Experiment with students for STEM Discovery Campaign activities.
Students from KYAL,repeated Eratosthenes' experiment of measuring the circumference of the earth in Istanbul after many years. Together with their geography teachers, they measured the circumference of the earth using simple tools such as a 1-metre stick, compass and metre, and with the help of mathematical operations and geometry knowledge.
WST was at the UNGA78
WST was one of the partners of the session "Gender Equality in Science Education" at the Science Summit UNGA78 organised for the 78th general assembly of the United Nations. The session took place on 13 September at 09.00 at the Consulate General of the Republic of Türkiye in New York. We would like to thank ReyhanÖzgür, TurkishConsulateGeneralinNewYork for hosting us, DeclanKirrane for giving us a place at the Science Summit UNGA78, our speakers for sharing their valuable experiences with us, and our guests who attended our session and accompanied us.

WST, science education community for Gender Equality, promotes and supports collaboration among STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) teachers, educational researchers, policy makers and other STEM education experts. Since 2014, WST has been pioneering the exchange of knowledge and experience in the field of STEM Education through its portal, events, professional development activities and networking activities.WST Ambassadors help share WST activities at national level and play an active role in supporting innovation in STEM education in their countries.
